Mercedes-Benz S-Class – First tests for the updated model – Quattroruote

Mercedes-Benz S-Class , ambassador of traditional technology solutions, approaching the updating of mid-career. The current generation, codenamed W222, was launched in mid-2013, and the facelift is expected for next year. With new hi-tech that will steal the show from the aesthetic, that will be of minimum capacity.

Can the arrival of OLED. The first sighting of the new flagship, in addition to witness the start of the tests, provides clear indications in this sense: the silhouette and the style of Sonderklasse are almost intact, and the external changes are limited to the headlights. Changes related to an important innovation: the full-LED headlights of the flagship could be updated with the arrival of daytime running lamps based on organic diodes (OLEDs). According to rumors, in the coming months forklifts should also mount bumper fascias from the updated design.

Two races, goodbye. Very interesting shots of the interior. The detail is immediately evident is the three-spoke steering wheel, identical to that of the new S-Class Coupe and Cabriolet: a small, but significant afterthought compared to the 2013 version of the sedan, which adopted a unique design in two races, unwelcome by all.

Mega-tablet panoramic. Sharpening the view, it can also be seen in a new infotainment system: the big screen led to the debut of the W222 is now “frameless” section of the screen which houses the instrument panel and one dedicated to other functions are not longer separated by a physical partition, but hosted by a single tablet panoramic even larger. Also disappeared three physical buttons that were placed in the middle. F.S.
