Big news at Porsche, the 911 Carrera puts the turbo – Leggo.it

 The final confirmation came from the Frankfurt Motor Show, where the house of Zuffenhausen has unveiled the new 911 Carrera, the result not of a simple generational change, but a Copernican revolution with regard to propulsion. For the first time in its glorious history, this model is converted to turbo, twin turbo contrary to, in order to generalize a choice of technology previously reserved for more powerful versions like the Turbo and GT2.

 And the new S equipped with PDK dual-clutch gearbox – an alternative to the manual 7-speed – is also the first to break the wall of the Carrera 4/2 (stopping the clock at 3.9) in acceleration 0-100. All this with a displacement decreased from 3.4 to 3.0 liters.

 Beyond the engine revolution, the change of generation has brought a dowry to the family innovations such as the rotating ring integrated in the steering wheel that allows the choice of driving modes Normal, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual that can be configured by the driver, the rear axle with steering function optional and the ability to lift 40 mm the nose by pressing a button to face without problems the attack of steep climbs.

 Both new Carrera are available from December the variant Cabriolet, with a list that in Italy is between 100,362 and 128,300 Euros.
