Coelux, with led and nano artificial light becomes natural - Reuters

An innovative lighting system for interior perfectly imitates the rays of the sun in a cloudless sky. Invented by an Italian, debuts today at the Light + Building in Frankfurt

Imagine not having chandeliers, floor lamps or wall lights, but that the your room is lit by an opening in the ceiling where you can see a corner of the sky and enters the warm light of the sun. This is the revolutionary new features just presented in Light + Building , the exhibition dedicated to the architecture of light, to be held in Frankfurt until April 4. A technology project called CoeLux and arriving from Italy, by Professor Paolo Di Trapani, a professor of physics at the Department of Science and High Technology of the University of Insubria in Como.

Di Trapani has experienced for over ten years, the ability to imitate, through technology, natural light and luminous phenomena described in the book Light and Color in the Outdoors, a classic published in 1937 by the Dutch Marcel Minnaert, which reveal the secrets behind scientific phenomena such as optical superimposition of shadows, rainbows, sunrises and sunsets, the color of the sky, and so on. So through continuous experimentation, the professor and his team have developed this fake opening in the ceiling that projects within a light that perfectly imitates the sun’s rays irradiated through a clear sky. The illusion of being outdoors is made possible by the use of the latest generation LED, able to reproduce the spectrum of sunlight, but also by optical systems capable of direzionarne rays and nanotechnology with which you can reproduce that particular phenomenon that is the spreading of light waves (and scientifically explains why the sky assumes in our eyes the color blue).

The innovative scope of the invention goes beyond the purely architectural and aesthetic: just think about how much exposure to natural light affects the mood of the people and how the lack of it, especially in the Nordic countries , is perceived as a real health problem. Not surprisingly, the project was funded by the European Union as part of its program to promote technological innovation. And in addition to invention itself, the EU has also provided funding for the first experimental applications: the lighting of enclosed spaces involving several partners including the Milan Metro. Hotels, shopping malls, offices, museums, airports, and why not, apartments, are the places where the sensory perception could be changed forever by CoeLux, which offers users the ability to intervene artificially luminous effect, with some scenes predetermined, in which the light enters the room at 30, 45 or 60 degrees, depending on whether you want to have the illusion of being in the Nordic countries, the Mediterranean or the Tropics.

… to ask why now, that most of the games are made, that the tension of the championship is fragmented as fragmented and net positions in the standings, to those who simply want a more just football, not trivially only more
