The New Yorker app uses virtual reality – The Gazzettino

After the digital publishing, comes the virtual one. The US weekly ‘New Yorker’, launches an app to read the magazine using virtual reality. In practice wearing visors similar to those used in video games and browsing the newspaper with the eyes, having
feel of him in my hands.

The app is compatible with the virtual reality viewer Samsung Gear VR that will be on the market in November, less than $ 100. In the past, Samsung has signed agreements with other media such as Netflix, TiVo and Twitch and various manufacturers of video game titles.

“Why read the magazine only with your hands when you read through the whole head?”, He explains Bradley

Tucket, developer of virtual technology. “At the New Yorker have always embraced the new technology, the results of this experiment are spectacular,” adds Bryce Gimmer, responsible for the technological innovations of the magazine.

The results of the experiment are shown in publishing a video released by the magazine. Readers are used

Samsung ones, do not know at the time if the app will be compatible with viewers of other companies.
