Blitz mafia: seizures of properties in Venice – Venezia Nuova

 VENICE. That the ‘Ndrangheta points much to Veneto and Venice in particular it is being discovered in recent months. That the cash flow was generated from international gambling is rather new in these hours. Assets for 25 million euro were seized in the investigation of the DDA in Reggio Calabria on illegal gaming and betting online controlled by the ‘Ndrangheta. The operation was carried out by the Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, the squad and Dia of Reggio Calabria in collaboration with the Special Fraud Scic and Technological Rome of finance. The seized goods are 21 Italian and foreign companies, 31 national sites and internali. 36 properties including many in the province of Venice and many cars and motorcycles.

 The seizures were carried out this morning after the July 22 had been completed the operation called ‘Gambling’ with the arrest of 41 people and the seizure of other assets of 2 billion euro. Continuing the investigation, investigators have identified other business, online sites, real and personal property and financial reports related to some of the members of the criminal international, some of which are affiliated to the ‘Ndrangheta, which have exercised abusively the activities of the game and online betting, recycling substantial illicit proceeds.

 


 It has also emerged that through the screen of companies operating in the field of gaming and betting at a distance and displacing in foreign servers to collect information of the games and their management, the organization has worked around the rules governing the sector, making consistent profits, partly reinvested in the acquisition of other companies as well as for the activation of new sites online for the exercise even more extensive and lucrative illegal activities.

 


 Based on the new investigative developments it was backed seizure of property in Calabria, Lazio, Sicily and Veneto. In particular goods under seizure they are: the entire company assets of 21 companies and trusts located

in Italy, Malta, Romania, Spain, Panama and the Netherlands Antilles; 3 investments in Italian companies; 31 national and international sites of online gambling; 36 properties located in the provinces of Belluno, Catanzaro, Cosenza, Enna, Reggio Calabria and Venice; 15 between cars and motorcycles.
