In its own stand (located in the area dedicated to the Official Global Partner building NE4), the group led by Mauro Moretti illustrates, through a multimedia exhibition, products and technology solutions based on the specific needs related to the life on our planet. The area is divided into five areas, within which presents the contributions of the Finmeccanica issues related to Space, Sky, Sea, Land and City. The environment Earth presents products and technologies for environmental monitoring from space and the support of the agricultural and forestry sector, such as the emergency helicopter fire, to the innovative solutions that contribute to humanitarian activities such as the unmanned aircraft Falco, daily used by the United Nations missions in Africa. The environment instead Sea illustrates solutions for fisheries control, maritime traffic and emergency management. Just the plane ATR 42 MP of the Coast Guard, is used for months in patrolling the Mediterranean, contributing to saving lives in the context of Frontex operations and Triton. A new company is the vehicle underwater wire-guided VFides, which will find use in the protection of archaeological and submarines in the monitoring of the health status of the seabed. The section Heaven is the Italian excellence in the systems for the control and management of air traffic, used by more than 150 countries worldwide, and the systems connected to them, like the famous meteorological radar in which the ATCR 33S as well as innovation aeronautical or the AW609 tiltrotor (aircraft that combines the performance of the aircraft and the takeoff-vertical landing of the helicopter, over a few years) for fast transport of passengers. The City, site of the continuing evolution of man on the planet, where it grows the need for security and sustainability illustrates technologies dedicated to the protection of critical infrastructure and the management of large events through robotic systems and surveillance drones. Crucial to the operation of the city are: systems for secure communications and protected from outside interference, of which the Tetra technology and managed services for cyber security are a few examples. Finally, the environment space, the Group manages satellite systems for multiple needs ranging from Earth observation with Cosmo-SkyMed, the new European Galileo navigation system for positioning and navigation on land, air and sky or the Rosetta mission that has made a significant contribution to space exploration and touched for the first time on the soil of a comet.
