A real treasure containing works of art of great value has reopened its doors to the public, after seven years, on 23 April. The Accademia Carrara in Bergamo now presents itself in a different guise, completely renovated and with some important news: the refurbishment of the neoclassical, the new arrangement, the campaign of restoration of the masterpieces, the full upgrade services for the public and the enhancement of the collection in Italy and worldwide. It was a fast paced and it took 12 million euro of investments, (the City Council supported the action with over 10, to which must be added the funding of 1,250,000 Euros Foundation Credito Bergamasco which allowed to complete the museum exhibition) and now Bergamo is very proud of its most important museum. Born in 1796 from the idea of ​​the noble visionary Bergamo Count Giacomo Carrara, the Academy stands in the Italian art scene for identity and quality of its assets and is one of the most fascinating collections of ancient and Renaissance art in the world. Today, the new Carrara, is also designed as a model of the museum for the twenty-first century. The main new features are found in the path and the distribution of space.
