An adventure began with a bet, it is now a ‘App of success in the world of technology startups. That’s who invented it.
New talent in Silicon Valley continually around the world, chasing the hectic pace of his work? No, he was born in Manfredonia, still lives there and is 25 years old.
But talent for technology start-ups that does not lack for sure.
He developed an App, Vincenzo Colucci, from 20 million downloads . He studied computer science at the University of Bologna and is an Android developer, but a passion for technology startups has always had and started very early with its applications. The first ever born as a joke or better from a bet: a friend was “scratching” a note from scratch and he bets you can create the same application with the same functionality. And then when he was a college student in his favorite hobby was to work on the desktop of your computer to improve the user experience and to find new solutions and performance more effective. And then he begins to flash the idea of a new application, but Vincenzo think designing directly for mobile devices . And so was born Smart Launcher, its App that as a virtual butler allows you to reorder the entire contents of the smartphone. Each item can be cataloged in a category of your choice as communication, Internet, multimedia, accessories and settings.
This idea never left him. And he works so much that he decided to present the project as a thesis; among the general skepticism of those who warns him and fears for him a great failure. But Vincenzo is more decisive and that invests money to try to launch the application. In total just over 200 euro . And precisely 150 to buy an Android phone, 18 to go to the Play Store and create an account as a developer and 40 to buy a hosting for your website. That’s all. It scores for its novelty in the world of technology startups and begin the download. The first version it totals 350,000. But already the second exceeds one million. Today there are about 20 million users who downloaded Smart Launcher, obviously not only in Italy. The application is available even for foreign users and downloads come from the United States and Russia, from Mexico to India, from Indonesia to the Philippines, Malaysia and so on.
The next step is what we see now Vincenzo in charge of a sole proprietorship . Yes came the first earnings from downloads, ranging between 50 and 150 euro per day. Today you can download the basic version, but you can get additional features with the paid version.
The greatest satisfaction, however, comes when Vincenzo is contacted directly by Google . The giant has noticed and wanted to shoot a video right in Manfredonia, in his hometown, to celebrate his initiative and his personal initiative. He himself admits that this is the way the video circulating on the web. Show that we should not be whiz kids or have money to be able to accomplish something. He is “only” a student who believed in his idea and made it a success, with a budget close to zero.
