2 Series Coupe and Convertible. On 2 Series Coupe and Convertible, however, the main novelty concerns the diesel range: the 218d and 225d benefit from a slight increase in power, leading the first 143 to 150 hp, and the second (only available with Steptronic) from 218 to 224 hp. With the occasion of the upgrade, the two engines make their debut also on convertible variant. To be recorded, on the latter, also the launch of the M235i xDrive: the sports version with the six-cylinder 3.0 turbo with 326 hp is the first Series 2 Convertible to marry wheel drive.
Series 2 Grand Tourer. As soon presented to the press, even the Series 2 Grand Tourer sees the first “new entries” in range: the offer of the MPV, in particular, is growing with the arrival of the entry level 216i (1.5 three-cylinder petrol 102 CV) and 214d (1.5 three-cylinder diesel 95 bhp), and the other end of the list, the 220d with 190 hp, which unlike the other two can be made with Steptronic.
More security for the MPV. Both the Series 2 Active Tourer as the Gran Tourer – always from July – will also grow the range of active safety systems: both models will debut as standard Multi-Collision Braking and Alertness Assistant. At the same time, the head-up display will change to the display of information on speed limits.
Wide range: the 2.0 diesel 231 hp. The main news regarding the high range are diesel: the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo sees the introduction of new powerstep 150 hp and 190 hp (318d and 320d): the first will be mounted also on the Series 4 Gran Coupe (418d), while the second will debut also on Series 4 Cabrio. In August, finally, the four-cylinder twin-turbo diesel will touch his new peaks of performance, at an altitude of 231 hp and 500 Nm: to receive the powerstep flagship will be the X5 sDrive 25d and xDrive 25d.
New technological equipment. In July, also will debut the new Professional sailors (of Series 3 and Series 4) and business with free map update (for the first three years) and automatic.
