Audi A7 Sportback – A week with the 3.0 TDI quattro S tronic … – Quattroruote

Day 3 If I were to give a title to my speech on this Audi A7 Sportback would say “almost self-help.” I am headed down the highway, entered the cruise control with automatic adjustment of the safety distance and access the system maintain lane. So, on the verge of truly autonomous driving I covered the distance from Milan to Modena, dealing only handle the steering and put the arrow to change lanes. I confess that I also experienced enforceability of the technology package when a gentleman on a Nissan Qashqai has decided to invade my oncoming lane while I was (to speed code because of Tutor): the reaction of the A7, which promptly slowed, not served to increase confidence in the car, even though I had my sixth sense warned well before the driver of the Nissan changed lanes. I start to really believe in the prospect of driving to zero accidents.
Some figures: on the highway, 140 speedometer at most, this A7 Sportback 3.0 TDI quattro has consumed 7.5 liters of diesel per 100 km. In the city, however, went to over 12 l / 100 km. In acceleration, the A7 Sportback seems light as a feather (and we all know that it is not), but it’s really quick as a cat, stealthy and silent, the instant rushes towards the prey. The satisfaction, however, is the overall, general and covers almost every aspect of this car. Here, at most I can say that “it’s not like I would have ordered me” and not cheap: these are cars to buy practically tailor, according to their tastes and preferences, without being too much to criticize on the final figure. It is a machine from the rich, in exactly the same extent as are the other premium German. What then can like it or not, this is an assessment of all staff, but that has little to do with the quality of the product. Carlo Di Giusto, preparing Internet

Day 2. The berlinone able to take off from the cliché of the “cumenda”, for me, are a really great invention: between A7, BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe and Mercedes CLS are spoiled for choice, it becomes even more difficult if the table is added to pure Maserati Ghibli, which replaces the Teutonic attitude to the accuracy with charm of the Trident. Among all, however, are a nice way (not exactly cheap, it’s true) to make modern and present the idea of the museum now vaguely sedan representation. If dell’A7 protagonist of the Diary board this week, were two main elements that struck me positively: air suspension, able to improve the comfort significantly and on which I will not go because he has already spoken to my colleague Roberto Boni, and then the motor. Now, is not that the three-liter TDI is a novelty, far from it. Indeed, it already started well, because this six-cylinder diesel has always been a great engine, especially since it was updated with the power step by 245 horses. This time, however, the German engineers have surpassed themselves, making it even more soft and strong bottom up. Opposites who meet, in short, because it is really hard to find these features so well mixed in the same engine. In practice, an improvement in the round, which makes life difficult even to rivals of Monaco: this version of 272 horses, in fact, has not the slightest inferiority complex than the straight-six of the Bavarian Motor Works (or BMW, if you prefer). And this is not a compliment recently. For the rest, I would have liked a little internal ‘less cold and severe. Not the fault of the style nor the furniture itself, but the choices of those who “ordered” the car: internal all blacks, with skin the same color and trim of brushed aluminum, add rigor to a cabin that would not need further additions in this sense. Day 1. Needless to dwell on the mileage list of accessories, but the Adaptive air suspension (1,880 euro) should not be passed over in silence. Why, despite the huge 265/35 tires mounted on 20-inch wheels (also optional, 1.815 euro) which are certainly not designed to cancel road irregularities, guarantee the effect “flying carpet” you would not expect from a sporty car like the A7. And since these suspensions are also intelligent, are confortevolissime in quiet ride, while stiffened instantly when you turn up the pace. Then be customized at will, then you may want to keep them in comfort or sport mode. It must be said, however, that as the famous hydropneumatic Citroën, the Adaptive air suspension Audi on certain short bumps are less effective than we imagined, but the budget is still largely in their favor. Even the rest of the car is difficult to find some flaw: in traffic the three-liter V6 turns slyly around 1,500 rpm, but when you need it pushes with great force and without apparent effort the two tons of A7, so that the House declares a zero-percent in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of 250 km / h. The steering, which is light at low speeds but uncommunicative, automatically becomes more sincere if you increase the pace. And as suspensions, can be configured at will. It is not even complain about the dual clutch seven-speed, that only in some transitional drive-release proves a bit ‘less comfortable of Classic Automatic; on the other hand, there are no slippage of the torque converter. As for consumption, should not worry about potential customers, however, in a bustling city tour trip computer showed 12.1 liters / 100 km, while on a ride on country roads stopped at 7.3 liters / 100 km.
