Fair amateur radio, a leap into the future – Il Messaggero Veneto

The last frontiers of technological innovation are at home in Pordenone, where back tomorrow and Sunday, the Fair Amateur Radio. The edition number 50, the biggest event of the Italian industry – capable of intercepting 30 000 visitors – presents news and previews: Expected more than 150 exhibitors. In the front row section of Radio Amateurs Italian town, in an event that is already distinguishing the wide resonance on social networks, counting over 190 thousand contacts on Facebook. Opening tomorrow from 9 to 18:30, Sunday from 9 to 18. Full ticket 8,50 €, reduced 7 €, free admission for children up to 13 years.

Innovation. Thanks all’inedita partnership with the technology hub, the fair will come the best of innovation and start-ups. These include the world premiere will be presented “Gipstech”, new technology which may act as navigator in shielded environments. Another “gem” of particular interest is the smartphone with a free operating system Ubuntu: the first unit arrived in Italy will attend the Linux arena, an area dedicated to the applications of the open source operating system which will be distributed free “Debian” (the same technology used by International Space Station NASA). There is also space for the latest frontiers of Windows, Google-Android and Apple.

Drones and car hi-fi. Among the most important of this edition ranks the event “Dronetech”, dedicated to a booming industry, from construction to public safety. Within a wide area 300 square meters will be flown some of the most advanced drones in circulation, while during two conferences will be clarity on certification of operators. It is a traditional event, however, the one with the car hi-fi and tuning: dozens of cars equipped with the latest technological and aesthetic will occupy three pavilions, ready to compete in tournaments. About cars, will be on display Alfa Giulia State Police, present with a booth by the police station next to the police post, road and to the Carabinieri Corps.

Makers. For the first time the fair opens its doors to amateur craftsmen technology that will occupy an area dedicated to fab-lab, hackerspace, 3D printing, electronics and robotics “do it yourself”. In addition to a creative workshop that will bring together makers from all over the Triveneto, there will be an area dedicated to companies where they will be on display, among others, various models of 3D printers and a humanoid robot able to walk. The latest findings will be a dip back with two exhibitions: a digression from the models of Commodore to the latest Mac and a retrospective of the Olivetti brand.

Gamers. In Hall 1 marathon “LAN party”: more than 150 players will compete for 52 hours straight, proving that video games can be a time for socializing.

The radioastrofili Sacile will provide their radio telescope, the first amateur ever made, for “x-ray” the sky.
