New Opel Astra TCR, from the track to the road – The Republic

The German company will present the new version tourism in Belgium on October 15


days are numbered for the debut of the Opel Astra TCR. This is the version created for the tourism car championship Touring Car Racing Series (TCR), set up recently but already characterized by great success. The car will be presented for the first time to the public at the official presentation of the championship which will take place on the circuit Jules Tacheny in the Belgian city of Mettet on October 15th.

The Astra TCR, developed by Opel Motorsport with Kissling, a long-time technology partner of the German House, is equipped with a 2-liter turbo engine about 330 hp and is distinguished by many technical innovations.
TCR Series, launched with the 2015 season, is the perfect field race for professional stables. A vehicle TCR can compete with the same approval in the national championships and continental as well as globally in TCR International Series.
The TCR German national championship will be called TCR ADAC Germany. It will also introduce a class TCR for 24 hours ADAC which takes place on the legendary Nürburgring, thus further increasing the chances of Opel Astra TCR.
