The Ducati Museum unveils – Il Resto del Carlino

Bologna, 27 June 2016 – Completely renovated to mark the 90th anniversary of the Ducati , the Museum of Borgo Panigal and it gives a preview for participants in the World Ducati Week 2016 , the world gathering of Ducati scheduled from 1 to 3 July at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli. The dates reserved for the participants of the WDW2016, in fact, are those comprised between June 29 and July 5.

Set in the factory in Borgo Panigale and opened in 1998, the Ducati Museum, after the recent renovation lasted a few months, reopens with many new features.

“Ducati is ‘Style, Sophistication and Performance’. This is the approach we use the Style Centre when we design our bikes and this is the idea followed by the creative director of this project, Paola Bosi, in thinking about the construction of the new museum, “says Andrea Ferrara, director of the Design Center Ducati. “Inside we find three fundamental elements of our brand: the history, the races and the Ducati’s DNA applied to our most iconic motorcycles. We consider each motion as a ‘piece’ design, a work of art that, today, we can proudly exhibit in this new gallery. A gallery dominated by white, to have the product at the center of the scene, with no distractions. “

Among the new museum now is divided along three different routes: the history of Ducati production bike and socio-cultural context in which they occur; the history of racing through the exhibition of racing bikes and trophies; a final path tells the ‘Ducati moments’ or facts, persons, technological innovations that have made the history Ducati, and ‘Ducati heroes’ who are the drivers of Ducati, his heroes.

The area dedicated to its standard products houses, divided into four rooms, 27 motorcycles of which 15 have never been exhibited before . In each room, the bikes have supplied the relevant technical data sheets, those of the individual components exposed, the art installation that emphasizes the product. An example: the structure of DNA approached the Ducati 916 is the founding values ​​of the Ducati brand, synthesized for the first time in the history of Ducati by Massimo Tamburini’s masterpiece.
