Fixed telephone line, ended an era – Wired.it

The fixed telephone line nowadays seems to have a vintage flavor: there are those who still use the landline, or has gone out of fashion?

Do you remember your desk phone? From the grandmother with the wheel to select the numbers in the white and gray branded SIP, to the most modern in the form of hamburger, or cordless fluorescent colors, the drive is always in Italian homes: fixed telephony was a means of communication fundamental, and the imperfect is required especially after the birth of the Internet and smartphones.

Most of the current phone deals on the market offer packages in which including fixed telephony and the Internet, but that does not mean Italians phone with the unit fixed.

From ‘ Observatory of Communication 3/2015 AGCOM, you can assess, in the era of WhatsApp, VoIP , cell phones, and text messages, if the fixed telephone line is still used for making phone calls, or only for ADSL and Internet.
