It is the photograph taken by the company for this year that IDC estimates a drop of nearly 9% in deliveries for computers globally and 8% for the tablet. In affect, according to analysts, even the free upgrade to Windows 10 that did not stimulate sales of new equipment.
The world of personal computer shipments, IDC estimates, will decline by 8.7% in 2015. 2016 will be full of decline, marking the fifth consecutive year with a negative sign for the sector. A “modest growth” is expected to return in 2017.
Free updates to Windows 10 and the lack of new models launched in the short term according to analysts have worsened the estimates of PC.
The situation is no better on the front of the tablet, where even a giant like Apple with its iPad suffers consumption down.
The decline in deliveries of the tablet sector globally is expected to be around for IDC to ‘ 8%, worse than the 3.8% previously estimated.
