Venice’s future seen by young people and drones – Il Sole 24 Ore

Porto Marghera – Vega, North Arsenale and San Basilio. Are three symbolic sites of Venice and its role as a city “driving” and innovation hub and of European development over centuries. In these three places will refer your video projects on the future of the lagoon city imagined by young people under 30 participating in the competition “VideomakARS – Venice Edition.”

The objective is twofold: on the one hand provide insights that can contribute the competitive revival of the city today to also struggling with the paradox of being among the most visited tourist sites in the world, but at the same time struggling with a progressive depopulation and the dilemma of the largest cruise ships in front of Piazza San Marco. On the other the creation of specific skills: the project, in fact, provides an e-learning course prerequisite for all participants, a training workshop of two days for the 10 finalists, and a 30-hour “virtual incubator” for the three winners, with the aim to support them and accompany them in the realization of their own videos. In addition, for the three selected winners, there are three prizes of € 3 thousand to one value up for grabs by Italian Foundation Accenture jointly with the University Ca ‘Foscari promotes competition which also takes advantage of the patronage of the Municipality of Venice.

In order to participate we have until 12 noon on the 11th of March and, in the meantime, the competition is enhanced by a technological novelty. The three partners is added the company We Drone, who will take part in the workshop dedicated to the 10 finalist teams and explain to the participants how to use the drones to accomplish aerial shots within their elaborate. The finalist students will improve in the workshop phase of their project, while the three winners of the competition will be given the opportunity to make aerial shots using the equipment and the staff made available by We Drone.
