It took two years of work and ten patents to create a timepiece that sublimates the art of watchmaking Piaget. Among the most appreciated at the last edition of the SIHH in Geneva, the Emperador Coussin XL 700P celebrates the skills acquired by the fashion house in conceiving and developing mechanical and quartz movements. The result is a watch out of the common and demonstrates the innovative approach that distinguishes Piaget’s philosophy. Produced in only 118 copies, the Emperador Coussin XL 700P is born with the idea of ​​combining a mechanical caliber ultra-flat to a generator. The latter is adjusted by the high frequency of a quartz that oscillates at 32,768 Hz and which ensures a speed of 5.33 rpm to the second generator. Translated, it means a result in terms of absolute importance in precision watchmaking, thanks to the resistance to magnetic fields and gravity that this exclusive movement guarantees. The idea to develop this timepiece is not random and arrives to 40 years away from the entrance on the scene of the first movement quartz made by Piaget. It was 1976 and that year the fashion house presented the 7P, the movement developed and produced in the manufacture, thanks to its 3.1 mm thick, he immediately won the prize for the world’s thinnest. A path, that embarked from Piaget in quartz movements, which from that moment on will be enriched with new chapters, especially in the proposals related to the timepiece that still characterize the offer destined to the female and the jeweled watches. The Emperador Coussin XL 700P comes with a 18-carat white gold case of 46.5 mm in diameter. Inside stands a dial on which it is possible to distinguish the generator, placed between 1 hour and 2 hours, and the oscillating mass, positioned at 9 o’clock latter shows a guilloche decoration and Piaget coat of arms. Looking at the dial, you can pick up other elements of movement that help to make it even more valuable this timepiece, such as bevelled bridges with sunray decoration, the wheels pearl and silver-colored screws.
The hour and minute hands are decentralized and mark the time of finely crafted silver-colored indices.
