Part Ravenna the first bus powered by natural gas - Italian Weather Center

At the start of the Italian first bus that goes to hydrogen and methane from Ravenna to start because it could be reduced fuel consumption by up to 13% of the total, while carbon dioxide emissions will be reduced by as much as 15% . The experimental route bus line 8 and about 212 km. The vehicle used is a MenariniBus Breda, with Mercedes engine, powered by hydro. Tests have verified the operation dell’idrometano and that feedback has had on efficiency. The project aims to extend the sustainability of the mobility of public transport. The whole was supported by Regione Emilia-Romagna, Aster, regional consortium for Innovation and Industrial Research, Aeneas, Start-Romagna, to the local public transport company, and Sol, a group specializing in the production, applied research and commercialization of gas technicians.

Passed the first hot comments: Alfredo Peri, regional councilor for transport of Emilia, this project had value dozers, as well as the technical aspects, for definition of procedures for approval of a new type of vehicle to be used for public transport. The hope is that other Italian cities could emulate the experiment.
