: Gaia is playing into space with a difficult task as so striking, that map the Milky Way. We learn that the flight is virtually in half, and that in ten days Gaia can begin to map the Milky Way. And, some say, even to map other exoplanets, are still unknown. The launch of Gaia is a great success for the new ESA science. The goal is to make accurate and detailed observations of stereoscopic over a billion objects that are part of our Galaxy. It is a mission that sees Italy engaged in the first person, with the help of ‘industry and research that takes place in our country. There are 8 INAF institutes and observatories that contribute to the mission to which is added the ASI Data Center (ASDC), where researchers work INAF and ASI. The hope, as stated, is to discover new frontiers in the infinite space. All that remains is to wait for the first results.
The European-built satellite, called GAIA, reached Earth orbit. Its goal is to map the Milky Way through the powerful telescope which is located on the inside in order to find new planets in the infinite space. There is great concern in the offices of the European Space Agency, is expected with anxiety in fact sending the initial communication with the Earth: until then, it can not be said that everything went smoothly.
