Xbox One will be available at launch in a single version with 500 GB hard drive. The hard disk can not, however, be neither removed nor replaced has confirmed Albert Penello, senior director of product planning division of Microsoft, during an interview with Engadget few hours after the presentation of the new console next- January

Xbox One, all the details

Into Microsoft will make available to users of storage alternatives, such as pen drives and hard drives to be connected to the system via USB , designed to satisfy those who will need additional space for games and for other content installed. There will be three USB 3.0 ports included in the Xbox One, which can be used just to connect compatible devices.

Into 500 GB of space for data storage – games, apps, TV shows, download extra content and other – should be sufficient for a good chunk of users. Moreover, it is a huge step forward compared to what was done with the Xbox 360, which at launch was equipped with a 20 GB hard drive alone.

Into The Redmond company has therefore decided not to offer the option to replace or remove the hard drive integrated in the platform: the choice is probably linked to the control that should be retained on the console, storing data permanently and reducing the chances of outside intervention. In case of failure will need to contact Microsoft support, since the main storage will not be repaired by the user or by another expert.
