No sex on the social: LinkedIn deletes escort - The Republic

The “oldest profession in the world” outside of the professional contacts of the site, specifically dedicated to labor relations. That in terms of service now explicitly calls not to create profiles that promote prostitution services. Crackdown in other web spaces

NO SEX, we are a professional social network. And so the “oldest profession in the world” ends outside the professional contacts of LinkedIn: the site, specifically dedicated to labor relations, has just updated its terms of service. Adding a clause that explicitly invites its members to not create profiles or publish content that promote escort services and prostitution, although in their own country these activities are legal.

These profiles on Linkedin there are, indeed abound, at internationally. Not always explicitly indicated: the activities under the heading “student” or “entertainment” are several. A spokesman for LinkedIn said in Mashable that the social network has always forbidden its members to carry out activities contrary to the law, but in some countries where the company operates prostitution is legal, the Netherlands for example. Hence the additional clarification.

LinkedIn is not the only activity to ban red light from your network. Facebook invites those who signs up not to use the social network for “illegal purposes”, but also to publish “pornographic” or to use third-party applications with related content “to dating services”, including advertising. Very hard against the porn Apple’s policy on applications on iTunes. So much so that Vine, the Twitter app to post videos in six seconds, was

after a gaffe forced to change its availability for use by users with more than 17 years.
