Inaugurated the ecological island square Varanini – Il Tirreno

 LUCCA. Another ecological island hideaway active in the historical center. After the inauguration of the structure in via Piaggia , it was the turn of the official opening of the station in square Varanini . Both are in addition to the four islands disappeared already in the old town. Even in Piazza Varanini island hideaway occupies a rectangular of 6.40 meters long and 3.10 meters wide where it was dug a hole of 2.30 meters deep to enter the hotel right to the transfer of separated waste.

 

 Be noted that the works for the realization of the structure have had a particularly complex process due to the discovery of some archaeological finds of extreme interest in the subsoil. The discovery has inevitably stretched the work, however the successful cooperation between the city of Lucca, Environment System SpA and Superintendence allowed to complete the excavation seeks to reconcile the realization of the work with the preservation of the archaeological site.

 

 At the ribbon-cutting ceremony this morning was attended by the deputy Francesco Raspini , the President of the Council Commission Public Works Francesco Battistini , the President and the Director of Environment System SpA respectively Matthew Romans and Roberto Paolini .

 

 The work does not end there: in a few weeks will be the time of activation of the island in via the Crucifix while, always short, will start operations for the realization of the structure near the Market Carmine . A series of works that continue apace to equip the center, later this year, a total of 8 ecological islands disappearing: a viable alternative for the residents of the old town to the provision of twine street, total guarantees more urban quality and a higher quality of the collection.

 

 8 structures have a video surveillance system . On 4 islands that were already active for some time the cameras are already in operation while for the new stations have already been identified the spots where to install the viedeocamere which will become operational once the work is completed at least three of the other islands disappearing . Another novelty is the opening of the compartments in which to place paper, organic, multi material or unsorted waste that will be through health card . On older stations are underway to change the towers and then provide them with the special reading system while the new facilities has already drawn up a the special player. So 2015 is an important year for the environment in Lucca since later this year the collection “door to door” will be extended to the entire municipality:
