The guys at Naughty Dog, in fact, always manage to squeeze the console, but this time seem to have been overcome. The detail is very high and the effects skim photorealism. From those of the powder to the mud that clings to the tires or the soles, the distance from the horizon to the transparency of the water, we are faced with something never seen before in a video game. To say nothing of the faces, always highlight the production: expressive, detailed, indistinguishable by an actor in the flesh. But if, after all, we are used to the technical wonders, those who feared that the action on the field could fail, can feel comfortable. Uncharted Uncharted is always, with its many virtues and its atavistic defects. If you do not like the genre, it is unlikely to convince this fourth installment. Otherwise, rest assured that there is a good dose of action, including shootings, intensive use of the climbing hook for the fast movements, the usual plethora of weapons and enemies are able to use quite sophisticated strategies.

Two, however, the news. The first directly concerns the combat. E ‘can mark the enemy that, in this way, will always be visible, even through walls. One way to get a general overview and utilize different tactics, because, for example, the silence will be repaid. Lurk and hide, in fact, it will be easier, thanks to a threat indicator that signals when it is discovered. Delete so “clean” the enemy, unlike the other Uncharted, it seems much easier, rewarding and also useful , as you can prune the ranks without firing a shot. The other new, much awaited and welcomed, concerns the use of the vehicles. In the demo we were able to complete, in fact, our three heroes (Nathan, his brother and his friend Sulivan) were equipped a beautiful off-road designed to increase “the scale” of the game. The scenarios to be explored, in fact, become really huge and rich in objects to find, essential for the maniacs of collecting but also to fully understand the story. Jeep driving in an easy and intuitive and climbs almost anywhere. In addition, it is equipped with a hook that can be extracted “expanding” even more the possibilities of the game.

Why is this fourth installment should be the best of the series and what can we expect?
Uncharted 4 is the story that we always wanted to create, it is the perfect completion of the series, its maximum expression. From the first episode many things have changed and this, surely, is the most ambitious, even for technological improvements that we have been and where we could take advantage. As for the game, it is in effect an “Uncharted”, but we worked a lot on the history and on the links between the characters. During the course, you create a real chemistry between them, they are put into play strong feelings. And that’s exactly what they wanted: to make sure that the player felt and felt the same emotions of the characters, gripping with them a kind of “pact” emotional.

Nathan Drake is definitely one of the characters the most “iconic video game” the last 10 years. What is the secret of its success and how did you get him?
When we started thinking about the character of Nathan Drake, wanted it to be unique and special. But at the same time it had to be a normal person, someone you might meet around, the bar and you’d never know that she can live to similar ventures. In short, it had to be someone, even as a character, the player might encounter in real life. When we created the character, we really thought of different types, both physical and character. Supermuscolosi, real tough men, almost superhero. But in the end we wanted someone who was believable and I think we succeeded.

Always From the female characters in your games, Uncharted but also The Last of Us, are sophisticated, multifaceted, far from the stereotypes women in video games. In this regard, also in the light of the latest controversy, we think there is a problem with regard to the female figure in the game or not?
I believe that the game industry is still a young market that has find its exact path. In addition, the public is really one of the largest whoever plays, men, women, people of all ages. In its growth you will surely find a way to prevent bad slips. As for us, our characters must try to involve everybody, thrill but above all to be credible. And ‘for this that no matter what their sex or race: the mportant is that they are credible, deep and create a bond with the player.

One last question: This will the final episode of the story of Uncharted, and will close the cycle of Nathan Drake. You were very brave, do not you have a little ‘fear of this waiver?
Frightened because this is the last chapter? Always we had decided to go forward until we had something to tell. From the beginning, we decided that we would continue to make games on Nathan as long as there would be something new, as long as it would have made sense. We made this decision because we believe that this last chapter enshrines a cycle.
