the sequel to Avatar will be four. This was announced by director James Cameron, adding that the arrival of the new saga hall is scheduled for 2018. The announcement came a little ‘surprise, given that the director had spoken up to three films scheduled for today. Initially the project included only two new chapters, but during construction Cameron had realized of having too much material available and having to add a third episode. But apparently it was not enough even so.

The outputs of the four films (the first three will be shot in New Zealand, each with a $ 300 million budget) will therefore be postponed from the initial programs. After Avatar 2 , which should arrive in theaters in December 2018, it’s up to the second chapter in December 2020. The third release is scheduled for 2022 and the last in 2023.

Cameron will work together with screenwriters Rick Jaffa, Amanda Silver, Josh Friedman and Shane Salerno. The cast will do it again part of Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang and Sigourney Weaver, protagonists of that first chapter which grossed $ 2,787,965,087 worldwide and that won three Oscars.

Speaking of the project Cameron has announced new technology and a high rate of spectacle: “Believe me, these films will be designed and made to be seen in the halls and on the big screens.”
