Kia new technology, 3-cylinder engine and dual-clutch gearbox – Assodigitale

Kia unveils premiere at the Geneva Motor Show in 2015 two new technologies that will equip the models in the range: the brand new power unit at three-cylinder T-GDI and the double-clutch gearbox DCT to seven reports.

The brand new power T-GDI Kappa follows the current

market trends aimed at reducing the capacity and increasing the efficiency for the benefit of the improvement of fuel consumption and emissions for the same performance and driving characteristics.

Kia technological innovations, the three-cylinder T-GDI

The first model to adopt the new engine is the cee’d . In versions GT Line , the new engine family Kappa delivers 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque, with CO2 emissions of less than cee’d models equipped with the current GDI in 1600.

After the cee’d , which will be sale in Europe in the last quarter of this year, the availability of the engine 1000 T- GDI will be extended to other models in the range Kia.

With the construction of the new T-GDI Kia engineers have set themselves the goal of achieving improved efficiency of 10-15 % compared to the current 100 GDI comparable performance.

The engineers have also worked with the objective of optimum responsiveness, a particularly efficient combustion and the availability of torque from low revs , and these are the pillars that will guide the development of the next generation of engines dedicated to downsizing in all product classes.

Kia technological innovations, the new 7-speed DCT gearbox

Kia during the Geneva Motor Show in 2015 introduced a change to 7

speed DCT dual clutch characterized a totally new project. The new transmission is adopted for the first time on the new series cee’d GT Line.

The DCT transmission will debut in production equipment such as the cee’d GT Line in conjunction with the renewed CRDi diesel engine from 133 hp. Dimensioned to withstand higher power and torque than the previous 6-speed automatic transmission, thanks to its characteristics of speed in steps march fits the image and the sporty character of the new cee’d GT Line.

characterized by greater efficiency than the previous 6-speed automatic transmission, the new 7-speed DCT was developed to combine the sportiness and driving pleasure in using manual with the comfort and sweetness of gear when used in automatic mode.

During the development Kia engineers have aimed a gain of 3-5% in the acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h and 5-7% in consumption depending on the circumstances .
