“Remote sensing via drone seems to be one of the leading sectors with the greatest potential for development of ‘impego of these new flying machines for professional purposes, “says Luciano Castro, President of Rome Drone Conference. “Many professions, such as surveyors or civil engineers, are on the eve of a real technological revolution , which will see a rapid growth in the presence of drones in traditional sports such as photogrammetry and topography, but also in all operations relating to monitoring and knowledge of the area and the environment. Very interesting are the new applications for the preservation of cultural heritage and also for archaeological research. “

In this application of April March 17 will be discussed in Rome at the conference “Drones and remote sensing” , the sixth round of the series “Rome Drone Conference. This meeting representatives of professional associations, academics and managers of specialized companies offering drones and sensors.

The event will also present the first experiences “in the field” in the use of these means for photogrammetry and topography, land management and large plants, but also for geology, archeology, control of cultural heritage and environmental monitoring .

In addition, during the conference will be put on display the new technological solutions in the field of surveys through April . For example, there are drones FlyNovex rotary wing and fixed wing FlyGeo, both developed by the start-up Roman FlyTop. The FlyGeo can be equipped with a camera from Sony A6000 24.7 megapixel, capable of capturing images at a resolution geo-referenced so far impossible.

Then there are the drones of society Ravenna Italdron like Scrabble multicopter 8HSE, with 8 engines and capable of videos and photos of cinema-quality machines with Canon 5D or Nikon D800 . Another drone is SF6, produced by the company ternana Skyrobotic group Italeaf: this means can be equipped with multiple interchangeable sensors, including multispectral, RGB HD, FLIR and micro lidar. This drone is used for shooting a week on the construction site of the Expo in Milan. During the event, will also be presented the innovations developed by other Italian and foreign companies, as Aibotix Italy, Menci Software, Microgeo, Cloud Cam by New Systems, Geodrones and Terabee.
