On April 30 was held the ceremony of the tenth edition of “Scenarios of innovation”, this year dedicated to “atavistic TECHNOLOGY”. Took part in the ceremony: Tuscany Region; Artex; CNA Tuscany; Craft Businesses Tuscany; ADI Tuscany; Furlanis Joseph – President of the National Council for Higher Education in Art and Music. “Scenarios for Innovation: is the international competition organized by the Region of Tuscany for Italian and foreign universities, colleges of education and artistic training and designers under 35, for schools and universities oriented artistic and design and designers under 35 born to promote the innovation of artistic and traditional Tuscan through the encounter between school and enterprise through proposals / new design applied crafts.

The tenth edition has seen a record number of entries in the 433 design documents from as many as 34 schools guidance artistic and design divided into High Schools and Universities, to which is added – new this year – the section dedicated to designers under 35. Starting with this edition, dedicated to the theme “atavistic Technology”, there were many ideas for creating new objects, designed and / or rethought from the component “craft.” Who are the winners? The top three selected by the University, are: ISIA Higher Institute for Artistic Industries Faenza (1st and 3rd prize) that “wins” with “FANTASY”, a collection of the table of children 0-3 years designed by Miriam Gardelli that will be realized by FLOWERSSORI, Pisa company that produces children’s furniture that is inspired by the philosophy of the Montessori method. Still ISIA, with third place for “Guerrestellari,” a spectacle frame with hinge wood that will be created by WOO CLASS, holding glasses of Scarborough (FI). Finally, the ISIA Higher Institute for Artistic Industries of Florence (2nd prize) for “WHYNEIT” a cardboard container for wine created by Francesca Julia Meuter and that will be realized from the packaging Casone – CARTONFACTORY, a brand of eco-design linked to the production of cardboard Monteriggioni (Siena). The first three selected for the higher education institutes are: the Art School of Bergamo (1st Prize) for “A Look to the sky,” wooden eyeglass frame designed by Elena Prisco and that will be realized by WOO CLASS; Liceo Artistico di Porta Romana and Sesto Fiorentino (home of Porta Romana) with “Not only the form, idea!”, a lamp designed by laminated cardboard that will be realized by THE PACKAGING CASONE – CARTONFACTORY (2nd prize); Art School Alberti of Pisa with “FANTASY AT THE TABLE”, tea and porcelain tableware for children 0-3 years by Eva Beppi and Laura Guerrini and that will be realized by FLOWERSSORI (3rd prize ex-aequo) tied with Art School in Florence Alberti who proposed “Once upon a time, and there is still a” multi-functional decorative element (vase, marble floor support and bronze casting on an idea by Gabriela Simoni, associated with Baldi, a company of Impruneta ( Florence), working marble and semi-precious stones (3rd prize ex-aequo). “Scenarios for innovation” is being promoted by the Tuscany Region in collaboration with Craft Businesses and CNA Toscana Tuscany, under the patronage of ADI Tuscany and built by ARTEX Center for ‘Artistic and Traditional Handicrafts of Tuscany Source: Press Office ARTEX Center for Artistic and Traditional Handicrafts of Tuscany.
