Google House, when the technology is at home – Rai News

After stops in Dubai and Paris, arrived in Italy, in Milan, the house where the technology want to make your life easier every day. We visited the building where room by room, including big screens and voice-activated smartphone, the kitchen, study, chat with friends and choose movies, and always connected to the Internet

Celia Guimaraes Milan A three-storey building in the Fiera district. Vespa From the entrance, the garden furniture to the furnishings and decorations, all recalls the colors of the most popular search engine in the world. We took a tour inside and outside of the Google House in Milan, the house set up with all the existing technologies that can make it much different than the way we live.

From the living room to the attic, everything is connected and allows you to make transactions even without the use of hands, thanks to smart phones and voice commands. From the living room, with the TV connected to the web to choose the streaming movies, the room ‘teen’ where the guys at the computer do research for school using the links on the search engine and prepare a paper on a shared document.

In the room ‘fashionable’, two girlfriends exchange clothes, shoes and suggestions via hangout while securing appointments at the hairdresser. In the kitchen, the team at Saffron explains how to use voice commands to access the recipes with the voice while they have ‘hands-on’. Voice commands that are also fine to order in the kitchen, via smartphones, shutting down within three minutes.

In the attic we go ‘on holiday’ with the simulation of a trip to Rio, Brazil. From passport control at the hotel bar in Copacabana, the technology most useful is the one that allows you to converse with people from an unfamiliar language translation, thanks to the app, either on the text by voice command. In addition, of course, the app selfie to send to friends and organize videos and photos of the places visited.

Of course, not everyone has a home with hyper-mega screens 60 inch stove in every room and wifi going off on request, but all the solutions presented in the house of Google already exist. In the future, we can expect even more challenging news for our relationship with technology, thanks to the wearable device (such as Google smartwatch and Glass), presence detection systems that automatically adjust lighting, heating and power appliances and, why not, the machine that driving alone parked in front of the door. But this is another story, indeed, another house.
