With the new iPad Apple responds to Amazon and Nokia here is war ... - The Messenger

In many there would have bet one euro. When Steve Jobs on January 27 of 2010 introduced the first iPad, most people do not seized the revolutionary. Too small to be used as a PC, it was said, too big and uncomfortable to be carried as a mobile phone. Yet since that the tablet has become an increasingly large, increasingly cross. As was the case also for smartphones, by the novelty of Cupertino has resulted in a war to the last tablet, which took part immediately above the arch-rivals of Apple: the Koreans from Samsung. In this case, however, the pass did not happen as in the case of mobile phones, or at least not yet: Apple owns 32.4% of the market share, while Samsung only 18%. In the meantime came into play more fearsome competitors, such as Amazon. Not to mention Google and many others. To make the cost of this ferment of the tablets was the old PC, whose sales have fallen to the bottom. So much so that it is expected that within a couple of years at most tablets will eventually replace it.

NEW IPAD But maybe from 2010 to present that never like this autumn the war of tablets has exploded in a way so obvious. Apple yesterday unveiled in San Francisco, and the new MacBook and OS X software Mavericks, the iPad Air, thinner (it is only 7.5 mm thick), lighter and more powerful, and the new iPad Mini, which will Retina screen in high definition. The first will cost from $ 499 up, the second will start at $ 399. That of Apple, however, is only the latest in a series of ads that could profoundly change the balance in the field. Also yesterday, a few hours before Apple, Nokia has presented in Abu Dhabi its first tablet in the Windows platform, the Lumia 2520, which has a fourth-generation LTE connection and a 10-inch display. The Finnish company that wants to regain lost ground in recent years in the market of mobile devices.

And all the other brands? I’m certainly not been watching. Google launched the new “Nexus 7″, obviously in Android platform, pointing, even if on purpose, right on the screen resolution, the Mountain View company calls “the highest in the world” for a tablet, pulling a poisonous taunt their opponents. Amazon unveiled the new Kindle Fire systems, which once again focuses on high performance and low price (229 € for the 16GB version). The company’s philosophy of Jeff Bezos in fact remains the same as always: to pay little devices to push customers to use the well-stocked and competitive by Amazon Store where you can purchase content.

And yesterday also announced Microsoft that its new tablet, “Surface 2″ and “Surface Pro 2″ more and more in the middle between tablets and PCs, designed not only for recreation but also for the work, are also available in Italian. In short, the war rages on. Weapons to use are spoiled for choice. The important thing is that they are as flat as possible, read and bright.
