Hyundai presented Ioniq: CarPlay, Android Auto and fast charging … – DDay.it – Digital Day

According to many experts, Hyundai Ioniq is the most important novelty of the Geneva Motor Show 2016 . Some people simply defined as the anti-Prius , but its characteristic is that for the first time a manufacturer offers a model for three variants, all eco-friendly , with different target consumers. After the first data released and events in Korea, was waiting at the European debut to unveil the latest still unknown details.

In Actually, the stage was almost everything for the plug-in hybrid version (which officially is called Ioniq Plug-ins ) and the Ioniq Electric 100% electric, since classical hybrid knew almost everything.

Starting from the front, the 1.6-liter GDI petrol engine is associated with a power of 45 kW electric motor, powered by 8.9 kWh battery , which can ensure up to 50 km 100% of battery power . very interesting range, suitable for urban cycles, but that has no limits of use thanks to the combustion engine intervening as soon as the batteries are low. There remained a doubt about the type of charge, and despite some competitors propose fast refills even on hybrid models, Hyundai has decided for the slow charge in AC , as evidenced by the photos of the Type 2 connector.

La longer wait was definitely the all-electric declination, which is still little known, except the already communicated autonomy, 250 km, guaranteed by 28 kWh of batteries . Some expected maybe more, to break the psychological threshold of 300 km, and this will put Ioniq Electric in direct competition with the Nissan Leaf oo with Kia Soul EV, rather than with future Bolt (Ampera-and Europe) or Tesla Model 3.

The part still to unravel was for what concerns the charging. Hyundai, unlike other Asian homes, has decided to adopt what has been chosen as the European standards, namely the CCS Combo, which in this case will allow the slow charging in AC up to 6.6 kW (then 4-5 hours) or DC up to 100 kW , double what allows competition. At the moment most of the chargers are limited to 50 kW, but soon will be released the second generation, Ioniq will charge in just 24 minutes up to 80% . The motor here, being the only one, the power rises to 88 kW with a torque of 295 nm, as always available at zero rpm, for a maximum speed of 165 km / h.

Ma Ioniq also hides a decent job done on the interiors, elegant and modern, with a technological heart, thanks to the compatible with Apple and Android CarPlay Auto. Also included TomTom Live services, and the possibility of wireless charging of your smartphone. All vital information while driving, guaranteed by 7 “display . And as has become standard, the technology is not limited to entertainment, but it is also dedicated to driving and safety. The systems we will find on board are Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist System, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross Alert and Smart Cruise Control . the prices for the moment are still unknown, and first sales are expected for the beginning of 2017.
