Android app combined with a web application for personal computers that allows the InterSOS staff in Crotone to register a medical record of incoming migrants with information also video, photo and audio format . The app was created by the joint work between the InterSOS medical personnel participating in Mesoghios project and a technical team of IBM, through its International Impact Grants program. The technological solution, hosted in the Cloud Data Center Big Blue in Milan is completely developed by an Italian technical team
The need for this app comes from the fact it said in a note, that many of the people assisted have no record of their medical history when they arrive and this puts a strain on the doctors who must diagnose different diseases nature and follow its development on subsequent visits. Having a database provided with images allows accurate analysis on diseases and measured progress, making it more practical and effective work of medical staff. The patient will also be able to receive email, and bring along, their medical records facilitating the work of doctors which will come into contact in other contexts and the follow up of the clinics pathological conditions in progress.
After a first phase by the physician of InterSOS personal experimentation, the database implementation will now be progressively extended, subject to proper training of the operators and the full guarantee of privacy of patients, the network of associations active on the territory of Crotone assistance and welcoming to immigrants, to provide a more effective response to the health needs of the assisted persons.
The novelty was presented in Crotone by the Director General of the NGO INTERSOS Kostas Moschochoritis , and that of the IBM Foundation Italy Angelo Failla , the presence of Mayor Peppino Vallone and the Commissioner of the Asp Sergio Arena .
