Computex, Intel Core to everything – Computer Point

Rome – The appointment of Intel with the 2014 edition of the Computex Taipei has offered news for all tastes and needs hi-tech systems from the ultra-portable and ultra-thin (for which the corporation held in Serbia also a reference design to show OEMs) processors for enthusiast-class PC, via the new business of wearable computing.

The main novelty of the technology of Santa Clara for ultraportable systems is called Core M , a series of processors based on the new microarchitecture Broadwell where the focus shifts from performance to reduced power consumption that does not go over 10 watts.

Core M is “the processor more efficient from the point of view of energy “created in Intel’s history, claimed the president of Intel’s Renee James in his keynote Taipei, and to demonstrate the capabilities of the CPU, the company has shown a tablet based on the reference design known as Mountain Llama. Mountain Llama contains “the smallest motherboard comprehensive in the world,” is designed to achieve a 12.5-inch tablet capable of running an operating system class PC (Windows 8.1), despite the thickness less than that of a mobile gadget like iPad Air.

Archived practice moving at Computex Intel has also given space to CPUs for computers as such with the (new) presentation of Devil’s Canyon: two new quad-core processors (Haswell) are Core i7-4790K and Core i5-4690K, run at a base frequency of 4 GHz (i7 3.5 GHz for the new i5), go to 4.4 GHz in Turbo mode (3.9 GHz i5) and are designed to encourage ‘overclocking thanks to the unlocked multiplier. Unlocked multiplier for Pentium G3258, special edition for the 20th anniversary of the famous brand of processor with two cores and clock frequency of 3.2 GHz base

As for the wearable computing Finally, Intel stresses that the technological evolution which led to the early history of the microprocessor (Intel 4004) to the modern “monsters” of performance (Core i7, Xeon, etc.) favors today the birth of this new market for nano-devices and intelligent ubiquitous. Intel wants to have its say in this case, of course, and intends to do so by virtue of connectivity “cloud”, suggestions of new concepts from the audience and form factor “fashion” but with the ability to really improve the lives of people.
