BARCELONA – Samsung launches two new smartwatch: the Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. The Korean giant renews therefore the range of the first watches “smart” in a few months by a debut that was certainly not exciting. The announcement comes on the day preceding the start of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona: This Sunday the city already has several events scheduled between rumors and outputs to art on the international newspapers and expectations with respect to the program can be said that the fair is already in vivo.

The new watches have a Samsung first noticeable difference compared to its predecessor: it does not have Android Tizen, the open source operating system built by the Korean. The emancipation from the binomial Samsung / Google is also evident from the absence of the Galaxy brand.

How

hardware, the main difference is that the Gear 2 has a camera, while the Neo Gear 2 no. There is the home key on both, the choice of a new range of colors compared to the first gear and a greater focus on applications for health and sports. On the new smartwatch in fact there is the ability to set and track fitness trails, and controls the heartbeat. On Gear are notifications of the activities that we do on your smartphone, you can make phone calls or handle the TV at home as if it were a remote control. An interesting new feature is compatibility with a dozen Samsung smartphones, whereas previously the gear was usable only with the Galaxy S4 and the Notes (the Sony smartwatch 2 is compatible with all Android devices 4.0). No word yet on the price, certainly there instead of the so-called wearable technology is going to be the star of the biggest show in the world of mobile technology alongside the usual smartphones and tablets.
