NASA: Uncovered new planets might be habitable Kepler - Gaianews.it

The satellite NASA’s Kepler has discovered five new planets, some of which in the habitable zone. The planets called super-Earths that are located at the right distance from their star where the surface temperature allows the existence of liquid water, a parameter considered crucial for the emergence of life.

Into The first system, called Kepler-62 has five planets, called, respectively 62b, 62c, 62d, 62e and 62f. The second system is Kepler-69 and possesses two planets, 69b and 69c that most resemble the Earth.

Into The planets of the possible candidates to be “double” of the Earth is Kepler 62e, 62f and 69c, because they have dimensions slightly larger than the Earth and have interesting parameters such as the distance from the star and the time of revolution, which could assume the ‘existence of the seasons.

Into Two of the newly discovered planets orbiting a star smaller and cooler than the Sun Kepler-62f is only 40 percent larger than Earth, making it the planet closest to the size of our planet and that is located in the habitable zone of another star.

Into Kepler-62f may also have a rocky composition, another element that makes it look like our planet. Kepler-62e orbits on the inner edge of the habitable zone and is about 60 percent larger than Earth.
