Into The Deputy Minister Marta Dassù met today at the foreign ministry NASA Administrator Charles Bolden. The Visit of Bolden in Italy marks the will to revive and strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of space between Italy and the USA, will already confirmed at the signing of the bilateral agreement for the exploration and peaceful use of space (Washington, March 2013).
The meeting allowed for an exchange of views on new developments of NASA, which has the International Space Station – ISS the main activity being implemented. Italy is the first country in Europe for investment and participation in the ISS, also in cooperation with the European Space Agency. Reiterating that Italy will remain engaged in the search for the peaceful use of space, the Deputy Minister D assù stressed the importance of the “special relationship” between the U.S. and Italy, which has among its results the long Italian astronaut mission Luke Parmitano six-month stay on the International Space Station.
