A long two years now finally sees the light in its final form: complete and interactive app completely dedicated to the Night of Taranta and already available from today on all devices iPhone and Android.
Through this app, that ‘Last year was still in the testing phase, users can receive on their smartphone or tablet all the details on the stages of the festival and the Concertone final Melpignano, the most important cultural attractions of Salento and can also interact with each other in real time thanks to a social and a fun game.
The four sections are present. In “Explore”, through a georeferenced map and with the help of augmented reality, you can go to the discovery of the main points of cultural interest that characterize every city Salento touched by the traveling festival. But not only. Pointing to their own tastes and interests, you can avail of a travel guide with personalized recommendations.
Turning to the “Join” you can see all the details of each stage, while, on the final night of Melpignano, it will be possible to plan your route to get to the former Augustinian monastery with public transport which will, as usual, bus rides to connect the province with the common Greek. The area “Social” dedicated to the exchange of information, a sort of network that allows you to post photos, comments and receive real-time updates.
The novelty represented by the “Play” where users will be involved in a friendly game on the theme of “pinch” of Taranta. Everything that will be done using the app, to accumulate points that will be used to declare three winners of the “competition”, which will be rewarded with access to the backstage in the evening of 22 August, but also to the stages of the festival will be gadgets up for grabs. Curiosity on the sidelines, some of the cultural content of the app were selected by Sergio Torsello, artistic director who died suddenly a few months ago.
The application – presented yesterday morning, among others, by the rector and Vincenzo Zara President of the Foundation Notte della Taranta, Massimo Manera the presence of the president of the Union of Greek Ivan Stomeo – was made as Folkture project, funded by the Ministry of Education, University and Research, whose partners are the ‘University of Salento, the spin-off Unisalento Apphia and Eka and the Sicilian DemetriX. Folkture a platform supporting documentation, enhancement, use and certification of cultural immaterial useful optimization of logistics policies, management and economic administrations and institutions that organize cultural events.
You have to make system productively – said Zara – because what we are most disorganized, the more it will be difficult to achieve the objectives. The University is working to re-establish the pact with the territory. This app shows it and adds the information stand of our university who will follow every stage of the festival. Of continuous and constructive dialogue with the University spoke Manera, who also praised who has cut the European funds to finance the entire project. Specifically, it is the responsibility of Folkture, Angelo Corallo, professor of integrated management of the business. This project will generate new jobs – he explained – and in September we will launch a cooperative daughter of our spin-off.
With this app – he said the technical coordinator Luca Lotti – have tried to identify a new quality standard for the territory. Thanks, in short, the partnership between the Foundation and the University, the Night of Taranta aims to become a model in combining tradition and innovation.
