– It is titled “Beyond”, “beyond” the new solo album by Mario Biondi coming out Tuesday, May 5. An album from the title makes clear the intention of trying something new. In fact, next to classic songs in the wake of the singer from Catania, they are several openings to sound unusual for him. “In this project I wanted to dare, to measure myself with sound more youth – told Tgcom24 -, I wanted to go beyond expectations.”

And so the result is a work by modern sound where over 13 tracks Biondi manages to get in tune with different worlds thanks to a bevy of exceptional employees. From the funky / soul of the Dap Kings atmospheres british Bernard Butler (former guitarist of Suede), to get to the contributions of opera DD Bridgewater and Nick The Nightfly, in addition to those of his brother Bluey of Incognito. A modern album also in the package, with the cover in augmented reality, through which, via an app, you can access multimedia content always different and exclusive.

Why this desire for novelty ? Points to a different audience or broader?
Actually I wanted to measure myself with new things in the first place for myself. If this then raise interest in new listeners better. But it was more the desire to do something in total freedom and this project in many songs have got a potential that I myself did not expect.

You said the single “Love Is A Temple” had You need to find the time to take flight, like a son. I had conceived a long?
For at least three years. Initially I had not even written for me but for my chorister. Then for some reason she did not was able to influence and remained there. When it came time to choose songs for the album I thought I’d try it and indeed appeared from the beginning a song ‘My very’.

But a song is definitely out of your system! the closing “Where Does The Money Go”, a reggae. E ‘he born that way or has evolved in process?
From the beginning it was something different from my royalties, but in the first stage had a gait more brit pop. Then we thought it would be done as a rock supported the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But as soon as it appeared the idea of reggae I’m loving it. Ironic in the right way to treat a subject like that of money.

How did the collaboration with Bernard Butler?
“Heart Of Stone” I was asked by Sony, I liked it right away. It ‘a song from the melody very British. As soon as I felt the value I wanted to get in touch with the Dap Kings because they are produced from them. And in fact it was dressed in a perfect way.

How did the idea of the cover in augmented reality?
The sound engineer who mixed with me l ‘ album is an entrepreneur attentive to innovations. When I talked about augmented reality I do I was immediately impressed. Thanks to the people who have the app cd can access a range of content that will be made available along the way, such as video, backstage and other such things. Will bypass even the social, making communication more personal.

Do you think a cover of this kind would give meaning to the purchase of physical CD? Who will listen to the album stream can not enjoy these contents …
I had not considered this point of view but in fact it could well be. The technology in this case can return to enjoy the artwork of a disk as it was in the 70 and 80, when the packs of lp were true works of art.

You who are linked to genres of years in which the disc was the subject “sacred” as alive technological innovations?
Actually I love technology, I am fascinated and I try to keep up even if the innovations are now so fast that you can not see the horizon, the evolution is continuous. What I do not like is that someone can do the lion keyboard coming to shoot nasty iTunes without having bought the disc, but only because he has an account. This is unpleasant and bad.
