Expo 2015 is the biggest event ever made in the history of food and nutrition. For six months, Milan will become the world showcase where participating countries will show the best of themselves. Visitors will have the opportunity to know and taste the best dishes in the world and discover the excellence of traditional food and gastronomy. COCOA AND CHOCOLATE, THE FOOD OF THE GODS – Entering the Cluster of Cocoa and Chocolate , the visitor has the impression of entering a jungle. The concept draws it inspiration from the places where the cocoa is grown: the plantations of tropical and subtropical areas. The facades of the buildings are made of a lightweight fabric and light that opens leaving in view the internal linings: a metaphor for the need to protect a product as precious and aromatic cocoa. The Cluster of Cocoa and Chocolate welcomes the common area on a number of poles of different heights and shapes, metaphor of the trees under which the cocoa growing. The atmosphere is dense and welcoming of a forest, where light floods in through the treetops and spreads between halls. The countries belonging to the cluster: Cameroon, Ivory Coast, Cuba, Gabon, Ghana, Sao Tome Principe.

CAFFE ‘THE POWER OF IDEAS – The immense plantations coffee shaded expanses of tropical forests in Africa and Central America have inspired the design of the Coffee Cluster. The architecture of the spaces in fact brought the highest branches of the trees in the shade of which grow coffee plants, while the halls are a metaphor of their trunks. The warm tones and natural colors that characterize the environment changes depending on the light filtering from the outside through the cover, affecting the perception of space and giving visitors the illusion of being right in a forest. Created in communion of intent with the International Coffee Organization (ICO), the pavilion tells the past, the present and the future of coffee in its three dimensions: the product and its journey from bean to cup; creativity, art and culture that are developed around the coffee cup; the stories and traditions of the countries of those farmers and consumers. CLUSTER OF FRUITS AND VEGETABLES – Small & large fruit trees that spread their scent and invite the visitor to discover its origin, history and legends dot the Cluster Fruits and Vegetables. Spaces, the products of the countries and the architectural structures and create passages of light and shadow giving the visitor the feeling of being in a forest planted. In the spaces of the Cluster Fruits and Vegetables are cultivated areas with fruit trees of different types. Around a central square, inspired by the shapes, scents and colors, the visitor can participate in the events and admire thematic composition. CLUSTER BIO-MEDITERRANEAN – HEALTH, BEAUTY AND HARMONY / The Cluster tells easily and immediately the spirit of the Mediterranean cuisine, the value and significance of the meeting, the coexistence and integration: the narrative coincides with the history of countries and peoples and evokes an atmosphere of colors, flavors and smells mixed in a ‘ unique cultural experience. Official Partner of Expo Milano 2015 Cluster for Bio-Med is the Sicilian Region. The project was inspired by the image of the Mediterranean city and is built around a large semi-covered plaza that houses four facilities dedicated to the distribution of typical products of this region. The variety of colors of the floor, made up of different shades of blue, recalls all the nuances of the sea that embraces nations hosted on the cluster.
