Interpoma between ideas, research, and technology solutions – Italiafruit News

Interpoma celebrates the year of the 10 years, focusing on some new features and an even closer relationship between the protagonists of the District’s apple. In a mix of companies of excellence, the uniqueness of the products in trade fairs that cover the areas of reference to 360 degrees, a strong link with the territory and innovation, thanks to the development of new technologies. The festival was presented yesterday in Bologna. The flagship of the exhibition industry in south tyrol, the exhibition mobilizes every two years and 18,000 visitors from 70 different countries, that meet the more than 400 companies present. This year is on the calendar from November 24 to 26. To celebrate its 10th anniversary Interpoma will organize throughout the city, events, in order to focus the attention of visitors to Bolzano as the birthplace of the apple, including the "Red Delicious night" and a variety of initiatives, all apple-based.

Important to the mix winning created between the scientific research, represented by the Edmund Mach Foundation of San Michele all’adige and from the Centre for agricultural experimentation and forestry Laimburg, technology transfer and disclosure, underscored by Walter Guerra, head of pomology of the Center for agricultural experimentation and the forest: "between the center for experimentation Laimburg and the Edmund Mach Foundation, there is an agreement in place already since 2011. During the last years the collaboration between our two institutions has intensified. We have already activated in the past, different technical workshops, which have led to a series of common projects concerning scopazzi del melo, organic agriculture, applied genetics, the project Vitisana, to name a few".

New this yearInnovation camp, the format wanted to take on the challenges of the twenty-first century; a platform for the exchange of new ideas and innovative themes to be developed in the agricultural sector-melicolo. The goal to work together with companies, sector experts, young talents and start-up of a workshop that will be held in the two days leading up to the interpoma (22-23 November), to develop ideas and concepts for the apple, working on four themes: the tree, the cultivation, logistics and transformation, creating new products to revolutionize the market.

"We wanted to focus the attention on innovation because agriculture is in the forefront in addressing the major challenges of our century,” said Thomas Mur, director of the Bolzano trade Fair. “The project of the Interpoma Innovation Camp, designed in collaboration with the IDM Südtirol-Alto Adige, has the aim to create a community focused on the design of technological solutions able to respond to these needs and changes."

In yesterday’s press conference there was also talk of the other reviews, organised by Fiera Bolzano – relatedagriculture, primarily Agrialp, appointment to the agriculture of the alpine arc, at two-year intervals, from 23 to 26 November 2017 and then Autochtona, the forum of native wines, taking place from 24 to 25 October 2016 in conjunction with the already established Hotel, trade fair for hotel and catering and Biolife, the fair of excellence in regional organic, which takes place from 10 to 13 November 2016, with more than 260 companies.

Fiera Bolzano has put on the calendar a new event for the sector, Agridirect, a trade fair for the production and direct sale of agricultural products, which was held for the first time in February of this year with the participation of 6,000 visitors that have encountered 50 companies and it will be used again from 18 to 20 February 2017.
