Theatrical successful evening with the comedy of Anna Maria Arciero “ So when we passed the carriages without Cavaglio”
“I cab without Cavaglio do not trust. Go you, not me. ” On that issue, whether or not to climb on the train – the horseless Cavaglio! – To go to Naples, we measure the courage of those who dare and fear of those who fear the news, comparing generations, manifests the enthusiasm of the small (and a curious and open-grandfather to the future!) And the distrust of adults, in a small community of simple, genuine people.
and ‘the community of St. Lucia to the mid-nineteenth century Cervaro, who lives his life sober and thrifty, made of daily toil, dedication to work and family, the accumulated wisdom of generations, but also the ideals for which they are all willing to make sacrifices. As they did to build their church dedicated to Saint Lucia and to put the bell, made specifically to do Agnone and hoisted on the bell with their own hands. They are proud of this and would love to finish the job with a good party and a procession to Santa as they should. But this requires a statue of St. Lucia and you should go to Naples to buy it. E ’1862 and there is now a modern vehicle, the train, which was recently opened, which “quickly” arrives in Naples.
Around these larger Community facts intertwine the stories of individual characters and their families, love affairs, marriages, land, inheritance … they speak in dialect, are illiterate but they know, oh yes !, reasoning, and it is precisely the awareness of not knowing how to read the signs and so they can not figure out where to go and how to do that convinces everyone to strive to the smallest, least !, they learn to read and write, because only then their lives will improve.
‘as told in a tasty comedy “Theatre places “the author, Anna Maria Arciero, with the support of the Socio-Cultural Association” Saint Lucia “of which he is a member, in a single act with the title” So when we passed the carriages without Cavaglio . ” For Arciero reconstruct history through the eyes, the stories and small stories of simple people who lived at that time, is not new, in fact, is his specialty, that entertains, makes you smile, but it also makes reflect and appreciate those people who were our forefathers. Also he made known to younger habits, customs, idioms and ways of reacting to the technological innovations of a century and a half ago. And ‘his way, and that of the Company which has created and continues to lead for 13 years, to go “in search of our roots.”
The play was represented in the large Friday, August 5 square in front of the church of Santa Lucia of Cervaro, in fact, in a cool and pleasant evening which saw numerous people rush. The Bishop Mons. Gerardo Antonazzo responded to the invitation and spoke, welcomed by the president of Franco D’Aguanno, the Theatre Company, the Mayor of Cervaro D’Aliesio and the parish priest, Don Basilio Minut. Bishop Gerardo, in a brief speech, showed appreciation for the play, which actually helps the younger ones to learn about the world before them now deceased, and supports its social and cultural growth. At the end of the evening the organizers have offered a complimentary picture of St. Lucia.
Simple but effective and impressive set design, appropriate costumes, lively albeit daily dialogues, good, very good indeed the actors, from adults to young people up to the children: all expressed themselves effortlessly in the local dialect of their ancestors, with its uniqueness, musicality and vitality “that fascinates and entertains both the actors who recites the listener.”
deserved, therefore, the long final applause of the audience.
