The technological battle between the Italian TV has just begun. After years in which Sky played the part of the hare on the HD front, leaving the enemy at a distance of light years, in 2016 it will witness a historic overtaken by Rai and Mediaset . The Alfa channels have already started the hostilities by sending for the first time in Italy a sporting event in 4K that is, four times the resolution achieved with high definition (the final Champions League of Milan), Viale Mazzini and will relaunch with an exclusive channel for Euro 2016 and will broadcast seven matches in 4K or UltraHD directly on the satellite. Sky will not stand and just with the European Football Championship will relaunch the tender: all the 51 matches played in France will be visible in SuperHD , a technology that can be inserted halfway between FullHD and 4K, offering higher resolution and allow you to have more saturated colors and more detail – the effects of which are particularly striking for the green color, predominant in a football game.
Only to see that the improvements of SuperHD just a HD TV (now almost 80% of the national area), while to enjoy a match in UltraHD need a TV that supports it and still in Italy its spread is poor.
But if between TV manufacturers 4K is now taken for granted, the next technological frontier to aspire is the HDR (high dinamic range) which ensures a brightness level dozens of times higher than now. The HDR is not new but it is a technique used for years in photography (then landed also on smartphones) to improve the exposure of light in photographs in which there are both bright areas that share the shade. In the field of televisions it comes to grant greater amplitude content possible brightness in such a way as to have more contrast and sharper colors. Sky is waiting for this to become the production standard of the TV and from 2017 will debut the UltraHD HDR along with the new decoder that will be required to take advantage of the new transmission system. Meanwhile, we have selected five tv top of the range to look at best Euro 2016 .

However Triluminos 4K Ultra HD panel of the latest generation is able to support the HDR and the new X1 processor ensures a perfect seal even in the face of less-format images.
